This course teaches you everything you need to know about payroll administration, payroll tax, social security, labour law and personnel management. Our experienced practical trainers guide you through use cases in an engaging, interactive teaching method, enabling you to master the material quickly and effectively.
What is the difference between a payroll administration course and a payroll administration training program?
A payroll administration course is often short and only covers the basics, while a comprehensive payroll administration training program delves deeper into the subject matter and leads to a recognized diploma. The PDL training program offers a comprehensive and practical approach, allowing you to start working as a payroll administrator right away.

Course content
The PDL training program consists of three modules that are essential for anyone working in the Netherlands payroll administration or payroll accounting:
- PDL Employment Law & Social Security
- 6 online classrooms of 2 hours + 1 hour of exam training
- PDL Payroll Taxes
- 6 online classrooms of 2 hours + 1 hour of exam training
- PDL Personnel, Organization and Communication
- 4 online classrooms of 2 hours
You can take an exam for each module at the Association for Examination. If you pass the exams for all three modules, you will receive the PDL diploma. This entitles you to register in the highly recognised Payroll Administration Register (RSa) of NIRPA (Netherlands Institute of Registered Payroll Administrators). This maximises your chances on the job market as a payroll professional.
Why choose a PDL program?
A payroll professional plays a crucial role within every organisation. Not only do you ensure an accurate, compliant and timely payroll processing, but you also monitor compliance with laws and regulations, advise management and employees, and contribute to cost savings and generating actionable insights based on payroll results. With PDL, you lay a solid foundation for a successful career in payroll.

The online sessions take place weekly. During the lessons:
- Complex course material is explained clearly
- You will hear which material you need to study

- Block 3: The payroll journal entry
- Block 4: Communication
Why this module is important
There are many organisational structures that you may come across t different organisations, industries and sectors. Your department will also work according to a chosen structure. Each structure has characteristics that you, as a payroll professional, need to be familiar with in order to design functions effectively and efficiently. Your field of work overlaps with that of your HR colleagues, so sound knowledge of personnel and organisational management is an absolute necessity. You will find the same overlap with your colleagues in the Finance department, which is why payroll journal entries are included in this module, as payroll represents a key financial transaction. Finally, as a payroll professional, you also provide advice and may have to deal with conflicts at work, related to pay or not. How you handle this and communicate about it is the fourth part of this module, and especially relevant for when you engage directly with employees on their questions.
